JSON and YAML file formats

JSON stands for JavaScript Object Notation; it is a lightweight data interchange format.

{} -> curly braces denote the Objects

[] -> square bracket denotes the Array.

In JSON, there is no line comment

A sample JSON file:

###########################

{

“DevOps”: [

                {

                  “OS”: “Red Hat”,

                 “DB”: “Oracle”,

                “Webserver”: “Apache”

                },

                {

                “Scripting”: “Bash”,

                “Programming”: “Golang”,

                “scm”: “GIT”

                }

]

}

###########################

YAML stands for YAML Ain’t Markup Language,

YAML file should start with — (three hyphens)

YAML file may end with … (three dots)

Single hyphen (-) denotes the List. It uses indentation as the delimiter.
